The Gospel is the good news of Jesus’ life, death, burial, and resurrection. I want you to know that God the Creator of the Universe is Holy (Jeremiah 9:24). Ever since Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, humanity has been in a sinful state. One of the words used for sin in the New Testament is hamartia, which essentially means to miss the mark. We’ve all done it (Romans 3:23) whether we lied and/or stolen. God is Just so there will be punishment for our sins against Him (Romans 6:23). Because of our sin we deserve eternal seperation from Him and eternal punishment in Hell. But God is love (John 3:16). Jesus took on sinful flesh and lived a sinless life. And He being Fully God and Fully man died on the cross, taking the punishment for our sins. He was buried and resurrected on third day so that whoever would repent (have a change of mind) and trust in Him as Lord and Savior would be saved. Anyone who accepts Christ as Lord and Savior is saved from eternal damnation and has received the promise of eternal life. All born-again believers have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
